This practical workshop is aimed at teachers, educators and artists working in schools who are interested in delivering activities based on creative technologies to teach aspects of digital competency and numeracy.

This course is aimed at beginners, but offers ideas and a framework for those with intermediary skills in programming or electronics.

You will first make a doodle bot (a small drawing machine) using found and cheap materials. You will then work with a Microbit, an educational programmable device that can be used for a wide range of projects, and merge the two to make a programmable drawing robot.

Facilitator Paul Granjon is a media and performance artist working with self-made machines, who has exhibited internationally and teaches on the BA Fine Art course at the Cardiff School of Art and Design. He has experience of working in schools and has been a creative practitioner on a number of Lead Creative School scheme projects

Please note: Attendees need to bring their own laptop to this workshop.
