Arts and Education Network: South East Wales

We are a network of teachers, artists and organisations covering the region of Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen. We offer free professional development and support to connect and inspire educators to teach the curriculum creatively through the expressive arts – and are fully funded by Arts Council of Wales in partnership with Welsh Government as part of Creative Learning through the Arts – An Action Plan for Wales. Find out more about who we are and what we do here.

First up today, our newly appointed Head of Education had a very big announcement to make - “we’re proud to present ‘Passing the Power’ - A classroom guidebook for facilitating authentic creative engagements in ALN settings.”

Thank you to everybody who took part in #PagesOfTheSea today. Together, on beaches across the UK, we said a collective goodbye to those who left our shores during #WW1. https://t.co/R7K2JxYqSa

Remembering with gratitude all those who fought & died in WW1 & subsequent conflicts, today & always. This animation created by @BlueMonkeyAnim1 with @bedwashighsch pupils is a moving tribute, & we’ve seen many other ways schools throughout our region have created to commemorate.

Well done in trying out the mechanism for a hand puppet. Good cross curricula skills between Art and DT
